Note Taking App For Text Edit For Google Chrome

Scratchpad is a simple and straightforward note-taking web app developed directly by Google. The app provides basic formatting options, making it more versatile than standard desktop notepads. The toolbar provides a drop-down menu for changing the selected font and font size. You can make text bold or italic, underline words, or strike through characters. Both bullet lists and numbered lists are available.
Scratchpad’s defining feature, however, may be its syncing functionality. Scratchpad stores notes on your Google Drive in a folder aptly named “Scratchpad.” Saving is automatic and takes place silently in the background. If you want the peace of mind knowing that your notes are backed up, consider giving Scratchpad a spin.
chrometexteditors-scratchpad-windowed
Scratchpad comes pre-installed on Chromebooks and opens in a small window by default. While the automatic syncing, formatting options, and built-in spellcheck makes Sratchpad heavier than a basic notepad application, it gets the job done.
chrometexteditor-drivenotepad
Drive Notepad is more of a standard text editor. The app saves and opens notes directly to and from Google Drive, but it lacks the auto-syncing features of Scratchpad. While Drive Notepad lacks formatting options, it comes with numbered lines by default. An options menu pops out of a hovering menu bar, which you are free to click and drag wherever you like.

It doesn’t just edit text inside Google Chrome, though. For people who want a notepad for editing code or writing scripts, Drive Notepad also comes with syntax highlighting. It is the only app on this list that does.
You can snap Drive Notepad into its own window to make it feel more like a dedicated application, but the hovering menu bar gets in the way if you make the window too small.

Google Keep

Google Keep is a service provided by Google which integrates note-taking and web surfing. Announced on March 20, 2013, Google Keep is available both on Google Play for the Android mobile operating system and on Google Drive as a web application

Web version

Instead of owning a subdomain under google.com as other major services of Google do, Google Keep appears like an attached part of Google Drive. Compared to other note-taking products, it has only some basic features: changing note color, inserting an image, and adding a new list. Users can also choose the List View or Grid View mode on its homepage.

Like Google Drive, there is no Save button for document editing in the web app of Google Keep; it saves everything automatically so long as users make a change to any document.

Android version

The Google Keep mobile app can only be installed on devices that have been approved by Google with Android version 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich) or higher. Non-supported devices can install Keep, but receive the message "Google Play services is not available", even when the Google Play services app has been installed.

Chrome OS packaged app version

Google Keep app for Chrome browser and Chrome OS are one of the early packaged apps provided by Google. The app works offline for creating, editing and deleting notes as well as for extra features such as adding images.[4] The Google Keep Chrome app also works on Linux operating systems as well as Windows and Mac, despite Linux not having a native Google Drive app available.

Send Encrypted Emails In Gmail With SafeGMail

1. How To Use SafeGmail

To get started, add SafeGmail then sign in to your Gmail account. To be able to use SafeGmail, you need to switch to the old compose layout first.
Click Compose to open up a new compose box. At the bottom right of the box, you will see an arrow pointing downwards. Hover over it and you will see that it’s the ‘More Options’ icon. Click on it and select ‘Switch back to old compose’.
You have to log out and sign in again to your Gmail account to start using SafeGmail.

2. Sending Encrypted Emails Using Gmail

To send encrypted emails, draft out your email like how your normally do. When you are done, look under Subject to find ‘Encrypt?’ next to a checkbox. Check the box to encrypt your email.
A question and answer form will appear. Type in your question. Choose the kind where the answer isn’t obvious or cannot be easily guessed. Enter your answer as well.
Finally, click on ‘Send+Encrypt’ to send your email.

3. Opening The Encrypted Email

When the receiver gets your email, he or she will see the actual content of your email, in encrypted form. Basically, it will look like a string of gibberish, non-sensical characters (see shot below). To read the email, the receiver must decrypt that string of characters.
To start the decryption, click on the ‘Here’ link as instructed in the email.
The question you have set earlier will appear. The receiver must then enter the answer to the question to access the mail decryption page.
To decrypt the email the receiver must copy the string of gibberish into the mail decryption page…
… then, paste the string of characters into the box in the mail decryption page.
Clicking on ‘Show My Mail’ will start the decryption process and reveal the contents of your email.

Done!

And there you have it, sending encrypted emails with SafeGmail is real easy as long as you can figure out how to get the answer to the receiver. You can opt for information that only you and the receiver knows, or send the password to them via another channel: via phone or SMS perhaps. Now tell us, would you give this a go?

So what is PhotoFunia?

PhotoFunia is an online photo editing tool that gives you a fun filled experience. You upload any photo and just wait to see the magic. Our proprietary technology automatically identifies the face in the photo and lets you add cool photo effects and create funny face photo montages.
Put your face on a billboard, a stamp, or in a Warhol-like work of pop-art. Become the Mona Lisa or a bodybuilder. You get over 150 scenes to play with. You're not cutting and pasting; instead, the app "finds" the face in your photo and integrates it with the scene of your choice.

5 Image Editing Tools to Make Your Pictures Awesome

Picasa (Windows/Mac/Linux, Free)

Five Best Image Editing Tools
Picasa is the kind of application that geeks love because it's so simple and effective and non-geeks love because they usually don't have the time or inclination to get bogged down in the more technical aspects of digital photography. If your tech un-savvy mom or dad emailed you tomorrow and said she or he needed an easy-to-use program for organizing and editing photos, you'd likely send them to download Picasa. The built in editor is more than robust enough for most casual users and includes basic color correction, cropping, and a variety of special effects—the majority of which manage to avoid being cheesy. Picasa isn't a tool for deep and detailed editing, but it's extremely easy to use for the kind of quick crop and correct editing most digital camera owners need.

GIMP (Windows/Mac/*nix, Free)

Five Best Image Editing Tools
GIMP has long been toted as the open-source competitor to Adobe Photoshop. Many people are quick to point out GIMP's shortcomings, claiming it isn't a true Photoshop replacement, but in the process they overlook what GIMP has accomplished. Without the extremely polished and commercially driven Photoshop to stand against, GIMP is almost entirely unrivaled in sophistication. Color correction, channel mixing, advanced cloning, paths, and layered compositions are all part of the GIMP package. There is very little the average Photoshop user does that can't be done in GIMP, and if you're not working for a company footing the bill for Photoshop, the free-as-in-beer price tag looks mighty fine.

Adobe Photoshop (Windows/Mac, $699)

Five Best Image Editing Tools
Photoshop has achieved such status in the design community and such widespread recognition by the general public that even non-designers recognize what someone is saying when they exclaim, "That's photoshopped!" Many of the techniques and methods that are standard across photo editing software were pioneered in Photoshop, like layers, slices, and image correcting macros and filters. On its own Photoshop is a titan of photo editing power, but thanks to a nearly complete dominance in the graphic editing industry, there are entire companies devoted to creating plugins for it. When it comes to manipulating images, if you can't do it in Photoshop, there's a strong chance you won't be able to do it at all. Photo byHVarga.

Paint.net (Windows, Free)

Five Best Image Editing Tools
Paint.net was originally the senior project of some computer science students at Washington State University, taken on under the mentorship of Microsoft. The project exceeded expectations and has been in development now for 6 years. Over the years it has grown to include layer-based composition, blending, and support for plugins—the majority of which are designed by an active support community. The interface of Paint.net is easy to pick up, and an unlimited undo function makes correcting your learning-curve mishaps a snap—making Paint.net a favorite among Windows users looking for a no-nonsense (yet powerful) image editor.

Adobe Lightroom (Windows/Mac, $299)

Five Best Image Editing Tools
Lightroom is on the same branch of the editing family tree as Picasa: a hybrid of an organizational tool and a photo editor. Unlike its big brother Photoshop, Lightroom wasn't designed to be a detailed pixel-by-pixel editing tool. Lightroom focuses on being a digital darkroom for modern photographers, allowing them to quickly make the corrections necessary to their workflows. Lightroom excels at batch work and advanced color balance corrections; photographers can even tether their cameras to their computers with Lightroom integrating directly into their editing workflow. Photoshop might be the appropriate tool for giving a single image a deep and intense workover, but Lightroom is the tool you call on when you have a huge batch of images from a photoshoot that need to be cropped, corrected, and made print ready as soon as possible
